You have to use itunes. The issue here is not about ipod touch or iphone, from the point of view of playing apps, an ipod touch is just as good as an iphone 3G. To get apps shared among different devices, you need to download the apps multiple times, but to play the tricks as explained here , so that you don't get charged multiple times.
