Yes, you can install iQuiz directly into iPod, bypassing iTunes software. Here is how to do it. 1. Maker sure you "enable disk use" of your iPod. If you never opened/used iTunes, then you don't need to worry about this. If you have used and have done some settings in iTunes, please make sure you check the "Enable disk use" option in the "summary" tab of your iPod. This will allow you to directly copy files into your iPod file system. 2. The folder in your iPod that stores text quizzes is: - On 5th Generation iPod Video:
J:\iPod_Control\Games_RO\11002\UserTrivia\Packs\SAT_vocabulary_3008_words - On 3rd Generation iPod Nano:
J:\iPod_Control\Games_RO\11004\UserTrivia\Packs\SAT_vocabulary_3008_words
Depending your computer setting, the Drive letter could be different. My iPod shows up as J: drive on my PC. On Mac OS, it is much more obvious. All quizzes are stored in a folder under "Packs", in the path above, I use SAT vocabulary quiz as an example. (Certainly, you can download it here at iquizshare.com.)
3. Create a folder with your quiz name, for example "beatles", then copy the trivia.txt into it. You are done! Of course, if you have more .tga artworks, copy them into the folder as well. 4. Make sure you eject your ipod correctly on PC, see the picture below. iPod is treated as a USB hardware, so you need to remove it be click the green arrow icon in the low right corner of you desktop, then click "Safely remove USB Mass Storage Device - Drive (J:)".
5. Enjoy your iQuiz!
