Apple filed an patent application entitled "Solar cells on portable devices". It gets around technical barriers such as limited space on a hand-held device. This patent, if succeed, will extend iPhone's battery life considerably. Right now, Apple claim that iPhone has about eight hours of talk time and about seven hours of video time.
